Some of Leith Bell’s thoughts:
”I’ve been to many funeral services and lost people I loved over the years… a close friend who never saw his twentieth birthday, both my paternal grandparents.
This February (2010) I lost the other grandma and my last surviving grandparent. I sang at her funeral service because it was the best way I knew to say goodbye. She would have liked it very much and I know it gave comfort to many people.
I see how saying goodbye to those we love is also a celebration of how rich we are for having known that person. I also see how much music moves people at this emotional time. It seems to somehow help with letting go and healing, like an anchor. I want very much to be part of that.”
